Prospect: Esportal Group and Inferno Group

On July 24, 2024, ESPORTAL GROUP AB, 556949-4056, and its subsidiaries Esportal AB, 559135-5341, Inferno Group AB, 559022-7319, Inferno Online Odenplan AB, 556505-6891, Inferno Online Surbrunnsgatan AB, 559173-0840, Inferno Online Skanstull AB, 556877-3179, Inferno Online Göteborg AB, 559368-5687, Inferno Online Södergatan AB, 559311-9398, and Inferno Online Täby Centrum AB, 559146-6387, (the “Group“) were declared bankrupt.

Attorney-at-law Peter Eriksson was appointed as the bankruptcy trustee in all nine bankruptcies.

The Group is the leading provider of gaming and esports experiences in the Nordic region. The Group consists of Esportal, which operates the largest digital platform for Counter-Strike 2 in the Nordic countries, as well as the gaming center chain Inferno Online with six central locations in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, attracting over 500,000 visitors per year. With over 20 years of operation, Inferno Online is a well-established brand within the esports and gaming community and, with over 650 computers and consoles, has been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the “World’s Largest Gaming Center” since 2010.

At the time of the bankruptcy, the Group’s operations were ongoing and had 107 employees, of which 47 were full-time employees. Additionally, there were contracts with 24 consultants, of which 14 worked full-time with the business.

Since the bankruptcy declarations on July 24, the operations have continued in the care of each bankruptcy estate.
