Following the bankruptcy of Thernlunds Modehus AB, the bankruptcy administration is currently being contacted by a large number of customers with questions regarding the bankruptcy. We have compiled the most frequently asked questions and answers below. The fastest way to get an answer to your question is to check if it has been answered below before contacting us.
Do you still accept gift cards or credit notes?
Answer: No, gift cards and credit notes purchased before the onset of the bankruptcy can no longer be used in Thernlunds stores.
You may submit a claim to the bankruptcy estate to recover your money. By law, the claim will be treated as a non-priority claim. The chances of recovering parts of a non-priority claim in a bankruptcy are often very limited. Email your claims to [email protected] together with a copy of the credit note or receipt for the purchased gift card and/or the gift card number. Please also include your name and full address in the email.
Any gift cards sold after the onset of the bankruptcy, on December 27, 2019, at 4:44 PM, can be used to shop in Thernlunds stores during the liquidation sale.
What applies during the bankruptcy liquidation sale?
Answer: During the bankruptcy liquidation sale, we do not offer a right of return, right of exchange, or any warranty.
Which stores are open?
Answer: The stores currently open are those in Nacka Forum, Bromma Blocks, Sollentuna Centrum, Lidingö Herr, Täby C, Mall of Scandinavia, and Stockholm Globen. The stores are open in accordance with regular opening hours.
Please note that stores may be closed with very short or no notice. Stores not listed were closed before or in connection with the onset of the bankruptcy and are therefore not open.
What applies to warranties and complaints from before the onset of the bankruptcy?
Answer: Warranties and complaints regarding purchases made before the onset of the bankruptcy on December 27, 2019, are not accepted in Thernlunds stores. For complaints regarding defective products, you may attempt to contact the manufacturer of the defective product directly, pursuant to Section 46 of the Consumer Services Act. You may also submit a claim directly to the bankruptcy estate and monitor a claim in the bankruptcy. Valid warranty and complaint cases are treated in the bankruptcy as non-priority claims by law. The chance of recovering parts of a non-priority claim is often very limited. Email your claims to [email protected] together with the receipt for the purchased product and photographs of the defect forming the basis of the complaint. Please also include your name and full address in the email.
I have made an online purchase but have not received my item, or I have returned an item purchased online but have not received my money back. What applies?
Answer: Online sales were closed shortly after the onset of the bankruptcy.
For orders delivered from Thernlunds up to and including 27/12 and earlier, we are unfortunately unable to offer exchange or return options due to the bankruptcy.
For orders delivered from Thernlunds after 27/12, i.e., after the onset of the bankruptcy, the consumer is granted rights under the Distance Contracts Act, i.e., a 14-day right of return and right of exchange.
If you have a claim, e.g., if you have paid for an item that you have not received or returned an item but have not received a refund, you may submit a claim to the bankruptcy estate to recover your money. By law, the claim will be treated as a non-priority claim in the bankruptcy.
The chance of recovering parts of a non-priority claim is often very limited. Email your claims to [email protected] together with the purchase receipt/order confirmation and the receipt for the item that has been returned. Please also include your name and full address in the email.
